NFC Championship Game: Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers

NFC Championship Game: Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers

In my last post we broke down what had happened in last weekend’s NFL Divisional Round and how we got to the “final four” in the 2023-24 NFL season. I then went on to tell you that the Baltimore Ravens are going to beat (probably handedly) the Kansa City Chiefs. So, who will face the Ravens in Super Bowl LVIII? In a quick recap, the Detroit Lions ripped through the L.A. Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to get to the NFC Championship Game this year. The San Francisco 49ers had the first-round bye, and then needed to shake off some…
AFC Championship Game: Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens

AFC Championship Game: Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens

And then there were four!! The Baltimore Ravens wrangled the Houston Texans 34-10, and the San Francisco 49ers barely beat the Green Bay Packers 24-21 during the NFL Saturday Divisional games. On Sunday the Detroit Lions were able to fend off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-23, and the Kansas City Chiefs were able to march into Buffalo and take out the Bills 27-24. If you notice, three of these games were decided by eight points or less, and one game was a blowout, by 24 points. This week, we’re going to take a downfield read at the two upcoming matchups…
Divisional Round: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Detroit Lions

Divisional Round: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Detroit Lions

In the third of four games in the NFL Divisional Round, we get what should be another ugly NFC game sandwiched between two great AFC matchups. I’m not being bias against the NFC, but you have to look at the Texans vs. Ravens, and the Bills vs. Chiefs as the top two games of the weekend, right? I’m assuming that about 85% of NFL fans are expecting the 49ers to shoot down the Packers, and for the Lions to maul the Buccaneers.Let’s be honest, the Philadelphia Eagles were a broken team, and I don’t just mean A.J. Brown’s knee and…
Divisional Round: Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers

Divisional Round: Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers

The second game in the NFL Divisional Round takes place on Saturday night with the Green Bay Packers traveling to take on the NFC’s number one seed, San Francisco 49ers. The Packers are the number seven seed and coming off a Texas-sized win against the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 48-32. Was it a really great showing by Green Bay and Quarterback, Jordan Love (16/21, 272 yards and 3 TDs), or was it a complete implosion on the part of Dallas and their defense, who had given up 30 points or more only three times during the regular season…
Divisional Round: Houston Texans at Baltimore Ravens

Divisional Round: Houston Texans at Baltimore Ravens

Then there were EIGHT! It’s Divisional Round Weekend in the NFL, and if you’re not giddy about the Super Bowl in LESS THAN A MONTH then you’re not a true football fan. Or maybe you’re a Cowboys fan. Either way. The overrated Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys are both OUT. The “hot teams”; Cleveland Browns, and Los Angeles Rams are also OUT! The Philadelphia Eagles continued to implode in fabulous glory, and the other team…who was…OH, the Pittsburgh Steelers! Yeah, they should have never been there. So, WHO’S IN?! For starters, it’s the Houston Texans at the Baltimore Ravens in…
Wild Card Weekend: Miami Dolphins at Kansas City Chiefs

Wild Card Weekend: Miami Dolphins at Kansas City Chiefs

In Saturday’s second Wild Card match-up, we get a to watch (only if you have Peacock…?) the Miami Dolphins AT the Kansas City Chiefs. The AT part is important because Saturday night in Kansas City is supposed to be somewhere around FIVE DEGREES! That’s cold enough to freeze your Swifties right off, and it’s certainly no place for a Dolphin to be! Miami traveled to KC earlier this season in the beginning of November, where they lost 21-14. The Chiefs got out to a fast start, leading 21-0 by halftime, as the Dolphins floundered throughout the game on third and…
Wild Card Weekend: Cleveland Browns at Houston Texans

Wild Card Weekend: Cleveland Browns at Houston Texans

Let the NFL Wild Card Weekend BEGIN!! First up on Saturday afternoon is the Cleveland Browns at the Houston Texans! First, I just want to say that there are so many great match-ups with great storylines and I’m hoping to cover each one of them. This Saturday is no exception. With the first game of the 2023-24 post season, we get two guys who are up for Coach of the Year; DeMeco Ryans with the Texans and Kevin Stefanski with the Browns. Both coaches have done such an amazing job this season. The Texans finished dead last in the entire…

NFL Week 18 Playoff Picture

HAPPY NEW YEAR, football fans! Well at least it’s a “happy new year” if you’re a fan of one of the nine NFL teams that have clinched a playoff berth. This leaves only six spots left, and there are 11 teams vying for those six openings with just one more week to go. Now that’s some NFL math that I can actually have fun trying to solve! Let’s take a “downfield read” at what the current standings look like, and who has the upper hand/best shot of making it to the big tourney…along with who might crumble under the pressure.…
